Assignment 03 – “Logo Animation”

DESCRIPTION:

Using Vector artwork and/or After Effects shape layers, students will create brief yet compelling logo animations.

This is a TWO STAGE project for which you are first responsible for presenting style frames that indicate planned action and overall design.

For the second stage, animation, including any of the 12 principals of animation as well as advanced keyframing techniques is encouraged.

The resulting videos need not be any longer than 3 seconds for a full point score, however please feel free to exceed this length if you feel so inclined.

STAGE 1.) DELIVERY SPECS (DUE SESSION #4):

  •  Presentation of style frames and storyboard that indicate design and motion planning

STAGE 2.) DELIVERY SPECS (DUE SESSION #5):

  • HD video (1920×1080 or 1280×720)
  • no less than 3 seconds long

Inspiration:

Assignment #02 – Shape animation

Description:

– Create a 10  Second animation using two basic shapes ( circle / square / triangle / free form) .

– Using at least 4 out of the 12 principles of animation , add a specific emotion to your shapes ( for example: happy circle/ angry triangle/ shy square…).

– Each shape should  have a different personality, decide what it is before you animate.

– Create a short story with a relationship between the 2 shapes ( love scene, fight scene, horror scene, “whatever you decide” scene)

–  Add sound FX and/or music to your movie.


 

Deadline:  This is a 2 weeks assignment

Part 01 –  First draft

Due by Monday,  09/07/15, 10:00am – ( No class – I’ll comment by email, only Vimeo links please).

Part 02  – Final

Due by Monday,  09/14/15, 10:00am
